I give in.....!!!

No I don't need another scrolly font...No I don't need another scrolly font...I repeat no I don't need another scrolly font... O.K ...give in ....I do need another scrolly font...thank you Less is More Ladies you have convinced me .....Scriptina is a really lovely font and quite frankly it looked better than all my others and as this design relies heavily on the wording, the font was very important. This week at Less is More the challenge is "a touch of red" and I have an engagement card to make for one of our nephews (congrats Andrew and Eve). Engagement cards can sometimes be tricky, I'm not keen on too much wedding imagery for the event but I love the idea of celebrating being joined together, so a simple scrap of red ribbon joining the wording was all that was required. The wording was printed landscape on A4, trimmed, cut apart, scored and attached on the inside. To cover the fixings inside I added an insert ...just a touch more red! I was pleased with the card but began to think it was too minimalistic? So ..... I pushed the boat out and added a little red heart.....now not sure again....
What do you think ...with or without?????????????????

(don't worry the heart will easily detach, if the verdict is off,

it is attached with blue-tak at the mo)

Very classy Diane, the heart definitely has to stay. Love that you've used blue tac for a temp fixture.
I think the amount of red is fine and it's absolutely not to minimalistic.
Congrats to the happy couple ,I'm sure they'll love the card too.

Diane, this is really great, what a clever design. I've been scrolling up and down to decide - with or without - I think my final decision is 'with'! x

Oh! another superb card from you Diane, I love both, but it seems I am going to be the odd one out and say "without" but it doesn't matter as both are fabulous

Diane, this is gorgeous! My vote is to leave the heart off...it's so elegant without it!

Diane you can always email me if you are having difficulty. There should be no problem installing WLWriter so if i can help in any way...

STUNNING card this week and i just love how your mind works. It's the kind of thing i do with all my cards as i like to add little personal touches too. Your card is one of my favourites from the entries this week:-)
Oh yes the heart, i'd leave it off... :-)

This is my favourite of the week.

And 'without' would be my choice. It's the striking simplicity of it that works so well and the heart takes that away for me. It's very clever.

Beautiful card - so creative. I love the red bow and the litle hint of red on the inside.
Personally I would do it without the heart, but either way is good.
By the way - hope you have picked up the NEW scrolly font over at LIM :D))

05.07.12 - Yes, just found this page in my favourites. I did indeed 'lift' your idea for a couple of wedding cards that I've made in the last 12 months. I did like the small heart positioned bottom RHS, but on mine I put two hearts. Just seemed to be the finishing touch, I thought. Thanks for the lovely idea, and I know you didn't mind the 'lift'.
